Midnight

Midnight was a black 14.0 hand mostly Morgan gelding who we acquired when he was 18 years old. He could still jump 4 feet, and could also deposit his rider if he wished to. He was tough and brave but very friendly, and he worked his way into our hearts and family.

He was a mother/daughter pony for many years and then when the the daughter moved on to bigger horses, he taught many children to ride and to have fun while riding horses. He would gallop in after a cross country round with what looked like a huge grin on his impish face.

He died at the age of 34 and was working up to 6 months before that. Midnight was a “best friend pony” and has his own Memorial brick at the US Pony Club headquarters in the Kentucky Horse Park.

Midnight – we loved you and hope you are grazing in green fields somewhere.
